Textile Diversion

The Good Way (To End Textile Waste)

“Every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck full of textiles is landfilled or burned.”
-Ellen Macarthur Foundation-

Thanks to fast-fashion, low quality, and the consumer’s own craving for “new”, clothing is a chief offender when it comes to filling up landfills. In fact, an estimated 85% of all unwanted clothing ends up in municipal landfills. Most of that clothing is synthetic - meaning that is it degrades, toxins are released into the soil and groundwater. Also, because it’s often cheaper to burn garments rather than recycle, those discarded elements of clothing become a significant contributor to global warming.

What we do

To divert clothes and fabric from landfills, we partner with those companies that will either use the fabric to recreate new products or reuse them in stuffing products.
